Airfare..oh..airfare

Airfares may go up….oh! no..
Despite all successes in transforming the Malaysian economy, the only one I hate to read is about price hike.

STAR this week reports…as crude oil prices continued to trade above USD 90 per barrel, aviation jet fuel price for this week was quoted at USD 106.3 per barrel…

And what the aviation industry response:..increasing airfare and reimposing fuel surcharge. MAS said that any increase in surcharge would be benchmarked against it’s competitors to ensure it’s fare remain competitive.

Now, there is another parameter to be considered i.e. Air Asia and Air Asia x.

I really hope the other end would be rationale and reasonable. Air Asia boss said the airline was not looking to impose a fuel surcharge or increase air fares at this moment.

What a relief…
