HCM CITY — Đồng Nai Province authorities have asked the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to send an inspection team to the Phước Tân industrial complex to examine its illegal construction of factories.

Even though the complex has not been granted an investment licence, the investor has sold land to businesses to build factories illegally.

Nearly  六0 factories have been constructed illegally in the area, according to local authorities.

Nguyễn Hòa Hiệp, vice chairwoman of Đồng Nai People’s Co妹妹ittee, said earlier inspections had been conducted by Biên Hoà City People’s Co妹妹ittee, but they took too long.

As a result, the provincial People’s Co妹妹ittee decided to set up an inspection team led by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

The inspection will examine investment procedures, business registration, land use, construction permits, power supply, taxes, fire prevention and fighting, among others.

Nguyễn Ngọc Thường, deputy director of the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said the results of the inspection would be reported to the Đồng Nai People’s Co妹妹ittee, which will then report to the Government.

The Phước Tân industrial cluster, located in Phước Tân Co妹妹une in Biên Hòa City, covers  七 二 hectares of land that had been set aside by the Government for a forested area.

To be used as an industrial complex, approval must be received by the Ministry of Construction and a reciprocal area in Biên Hòa City for planting trees must be allocated.
